In the context of the “Quality Assurance Development” QAD 2020 project launched by Arts, Sciences & Technology University in Lebanon (AUL) which aims towards developing a strong culture of quality in the institution through strategic planning and governance framework. AUL was glad to host the Founder and CEO of the Center for Learning Innovations and Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS) Dr. Narimanne Hadj-Hamou and the associate and director of knowledge transfer at CLICKS Mr. Mokhtar Benhadria in order to facilitate a two days Strategic Plan retreat. The president of AUL Dr. Adnan Hamze opened the retreat by emphasizing on the importance of this journey in order to fulfill AUL’s aspiration in being one of the nation’s leading universities recognized for excellence and innovation in education and its contribution to the development of society. Dr. Hamze extended a warm welcome to Dr. Hadj-Hamou, Mr. Benhadria and to all participants. The strategic plan retreat was held over two days on the 7th and 8th of June at the main campus of AUL in Beirut in the presence of 45participants that vary from management, staff, faculty members, investors, employers and students, with the purpose of engaging various internal and external stakeholders in identifying the five-years road map of the institution. Participants were actively engaged with a number of activities: the revision of the vision, mission, core values, SWOT analysis and with the definition of high level strategy goals and objectives. The retreat objectives were: – Share the strategic planning process – Facilitate the review of AUL’s mission, vision and core values – Conduct AUL institutional SWOT analysis – Formulate AUL strategies – Develop AUL’s strategic goals and objectives – Develop on the set of KPI’s and targets – Identify the key strategic initiatives for each goal – Understand what is strategic alignment and how to cascade the institutional plan to other colleges and units within AUL university system.
