DEVELOP YOUR STAFF INTERNAL CAPABILITY BY REQUESTING AN ‘IN-HOUSE’ PROGRAM
Capacity Building is perceived nowadays as more than just training; instead, it is an on-going process that includes both human resources development and institutional development to ensure that institutions and nations in the wider spectrum improve their ability to perform successfully. The human resources development focuses mainly on the process of developing and strengthening individuals with the necessary competencies, skills and knowledge that will enable them to perform their duties effectively. While institutional development is concerned with the elaboration of management structures, processes and procedures. Thus building capacity refers to the ability of an institution to achieve its mission and strategic goals in an effective and efficient manner. Leveraging on its own internal team, its international network of experts and it various partnerships, CLICKS works closely with higher education institutions regionally and globally to support internal capacity building via offering different training and mentoring activities in each of its five areas of expertise. In addition, and in alignment of its vision of serving the regional higher education community; CLICKS is equipped and able to deliver programs outside the UAE when and as needed.
In-house programs offer a systematic and yet holistic customized approach for the process of human capital development. This approach is based on an individualized, highly customized approach dedicated to addressing individual and institutional needs and requirements and offering a complete developmental perspective. These programs not only focus on knowledge acquisition but are also meant to provide participants with the opportunity to build ‘self-confidence’ , understand the relation between their work and that of other colleagues’ work and to work on aspects related to leadership development.
In-house programs require some level of ‘prior to the program’ coordination between the Center and the requesting institution; where the requesting institution will need to provide relevant information on gaps and challenges identified to be addressed as part of the program, specific areas of focus and attention, particular institutional context, certain institutional practices to be enforced, etc.
In addition, the Center can assist higher education institutions in identifying skills’ and competencies gaps and may provide both conceptual and practical advice on skills development opportunities to academic leaders, faculty members and other stakeholders within higher education to enable them to meet their short and long term objectives while being able to respond to the challenges of changing expectations of their customers amid an increasingly competitive landscape.
