DR. REN YI

 

Ren is the Director, Higher Degree Research Office at Macquarie University. Previously he was working at the University of Melbourne, University of Queensland, Victoria University and University of Southern QLD

Ren has an MBA from Swinburne University of Technology and a PhD from Melbourne University. He investigated Multinational Enterprises from emerging market investing in another emerging marketing, focused on motivation and mechanism. He is currently holding his ARC Linkage grant in the field of International Business, International Communication and Social Attitude Studies. His research areas are International Business, Economic Geography, Management and International communication. He is a reviewer for ARC and the Academy of International Business.

Ren is actively involved with the research management profession. He is currently Immediate President of the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS). He is also an active member of the International Network of Research Management Societies. He has also been appointed to different research management committees by the Australia Research Council and by Universities Australia. In 2009, Ren was awarded the Australian Endeavour Executive Award by Prime Minister Hon Julia Gillard. In the same year he also won an Award for Excellence 2009 from the Australasian Research Management Society for embedding research administration in a regional university.
Ren also has extensive industry management experiences. He has participated in several management consulting projects for international companies such as Maytag, Lenovo and the Ingeus Group. Ren was the Vice President and Executive Officer for the Australia China Business Council (ACBC) QLD Branch from 2005-2007.
